That is off every monthly bill.
Estimate for illustration only, not a quote. Your discount applies to the value of the solar credits on your bill. Potomac Edison's fixed monthly customer charge of $6.00 is not offset by solar credits. Discount rates vary by project and are subject to availability.

Before you start
Is this actually free?
Yes. There is no cost to join, no installation, no equipment, and no cancellation fee. You only ever pay for solar credits that have already been applied to your bill, and you pay 10% less than they are worth, or 20% less if your household is income-qualified.
How do I know if I qualify for the 20% rate?
We set aside 40% of every project for income-qualified households, and those subscribers save 20% instead of 10%. There are two ways to qualify and either one on its own is enough: your household income, or your participation in an assistance program of any kind, whether that is housing, food, medical or energy. We check during enrollment and apply the better rate if you qualify.
Who is Solar Simplified?
We are a community solar provider registered with the Maryland Public Service Commission. We are not an alternative electricity supplier, so we never take over your utility service. To date we have generated over $20 million in electricity credits for our customers.
Why do you need my Potomac Edison account information?
It lets us confirm that you are the account holder and make sure your solar credits are applied to the right account.
Do I need to own my home?
No. Renters qualify on the same terms as homeowners. You just need to be the person who pays the Potomac Edison bill.
Does my Potomac Edison service change?
No. Potomac Edison stays your utility, delivers your power and sends your bill exactly as they do today. There is no interruption to your service and nothing changes about how your electricity reaches you.
Can I cancel later?
Yes, at any time, with no fees and no penalty. Your customer agreement runs month to month.
